Who's the King of Smartphone in the U.S., Apple or Samsung?

Samsung may be the largest smart phone manufacturer in the world. But in the United States, which is seen as an important market in the technology industry, Samsung Galaxy series has not been able to overtake the Apple iPhone.

There are 136.7 million people in the U.S. who use smart phones during the three-month period ending in March 2013. Well, 39 percent of that number is the Apple iPhone mobile phone users, according to recent survey research institution ComScore, as quoted by AllThingsD.

While Samsung, currently controls 21.7 percent of the smartphone market or finished second largest mobile phone manufacturer in the U.S.. That number rose only slightly from 21 percent in the fourth quarter of 2012.

Other mobile phone manufacturers have not been showing his fangs in the U.S. market. ComScore noted, the market share of HTC, Motorola, and LG no more than 10 percent in the first quarter of 2013. All three declined from quarter to quarter.

ComScore also released data on the powerful mobile operating system in the U.S.. Android still dominates the U.S. market, which stood at 53.4 per cent, although this figure is down from 52 percent in the fourth quarter of 2012.
