Almost Calling Apple iPhone with These Names

iPhone is a revolutionary mobile device that has inspired many manufacturers to gush smartphone product category. But you know, what name will be given before Apple decided to use the name 'iPhone' for its smartphone devices it?

Before deciding to make a smartphone device, Apple is considering a number of names that will be used for that smart phones. This was revealed by a former Apple marketing division head Ken Segall in a seminar at the University of Arizona, USA.

Proclaimed 9to5Mac, Segall said four names before finally wearing brand Apple 'iPhone' for its smartphone products. The names that are Telepod, Mobi, Tripod and iPad.

Segall said, Apple is considering the name 'Telepod' because it sounded futuristic and the word 'pod' used still in touch with the iPod, Apple's previously issued. While the name 'mobi', according to Segall, an abbreviation of the word 'mobile' which has a creative impression as well as a unique personality.

Then the name 'Tripod', which according to Segall is a blend of iPod + phone + internet, these three functions are able to run very well on an iPhone. Although the name is not so used, but the concept behind it contribute important in the iPhone presentation.

While the choice of last name is 'iPad'. Although he was used as the name of Apple's tablet device, but this name was originally prepared by Steve Jobs for smartphone products.

Segall said that Jobs originally wanted to produce a tablet device than a smartphone first. However, in the middle of the road suddenly changed his mind and Jobs so keen to gush smartphone.
