LG Now ahold of HP webOS after Purchase

Just like Hewlett Packard has now had to give up its operating system webOS to acquired by the LG. The operating system was first developed by Palm's first planned to foster technology to its line of Smart TV from LG.

The deal that has been made by both parties, including the source code, documentation, licenses for all products are patented and experimental teams involved. Interestingly, webOS is expected to become the core technology for LG that will revolutionize electronic products later.

"Technology webOS convincing enough for the user experience, and when combined with the technology we have now it will pave the way for future innovation through new technology-based webOS," said chief technology LG, Skott Ahn.

"WebOS and associated community will make this platform leading to the next generation. We will look for opportunities to accelerate the presence of this platform to the community, "said HP's COO, Bill Veghte.

Given the failure of previous HP had acquired Palm in hopes to dominate the market of smartphones and tablets a few years ago, it was not brought results. Not wanting to repeat the failures so now LG prefer to develop it as a technology smart tv.

Will webOS be successful in the hands of LG? We'll see.
